Jackson 5 day camp finds,mystery CSA item

After DIV I went to Jackson 5 day camp hunt for one day. I got a gun tool, cavalry ball, indian cent, possible burnt broken plate, and this weird iron thing. May have painted brass top. It came out of field in CSA camp. Not sure what it is or if its period. But defiantly not a tractor part. Place is getting sparse but hunt is cheap and no special trip as I was all ready down for div hunts so I figured what the heck. Just realized I haven't posted div finds. And all the picks are on my I pad.

No idea of what the mystery thing . weird, something strange about this Jackson 5 Day Camp esp the kids with Afro's singing , ABC ... its easy as do ray me ...
