I may have jumped in, if he had messed with the patina of the piece. But he did a great job 'cleaning' which to me looks like he ran it under the tap to take off the dirt. So not really a great deal of cleaning done.
As for me getting one, it would be nice, but I bet mine will be all beaten up by the plough (if I'm very lucky). They are a huge chuck of silver.
I know this is mostly a US site, but lets get behind this a little more. He spent the time to share with us, better photos after pressure to get a better camera from his own pocket to share an absolutely top of the shelf hammered. Trust me, Tnet will likely never see a better Shilling in another 20 years of all of us Brits trying our hardest. Simple. I'm not likely to need to eat my words either (although if I did, I would prefer it was me that got it)
