Joined the Gold Grille club & the Man-O-War Man that hurts club

Went back to yesterdays beach and Joined the Gold Grille club. Set of gold teeth that is. That'll teach you to swim with your mouth shut :icon_biggrin: Managed only 38 coins today. Also found a girls 10K heart ring, it's stamped 18K but only tested 10K. 1 Sterling ring, about 8 junk earrings, 1 junk ring, 1 junk bracelet, and another folding knife (found open). SO... I ended the day by meeting up with a HUGE Man-O-War, I saw it and was like 20+ feet away and when I felt the tingling followed by bad stinging on my right ankle and left leg. So I quickly did the amateure thing of trying to pull it off my leg, thus stinging my fingers... And you think this water huntin' is easy. :help: And lets not forget my sidekick Lani, She got two nice Sterling rings in the dry sand, the one with the "bear" says TOUS on the side of it. Anyone know what that means? HH.

Yeah man stung for hours, but after hunting in the water all these years and this is my first run in with one, not bad I'd say. So what are you supposed to put on the sting?

Found this on Webmd ; Soak a compress in household vinegar (5% acetic acid solution) and hot water. Apply to the affected area to prevent further stings.
If vinegar is not available, rinse the area with large amounts of salt water. Do not use fresh water; this may cause the tentacles to release venom. Do not use urine, gasoline, kerosene, or turpentine.

A little peanut butter and a cold glass of milk would go nicely with it ;D

Thanks Willie, I woke up this morning, or rather in the middle of the night, and it was all swollen and itchy as Hell...

Plain old Adolf's meat tenderizer, vinegar, lemon or lime juice, It's what works down here. but that's only to stop the tentacles from firing while you remove them. After that its rinse and get some numbing cortisone cream. As in Benzocaine & cortizone or Calamine & Benzocaine

I got good results with Band-Aid Calamine Spray.

Great finds

Hmmm. that's cool, it's actually marked on the side of the ring. Also the 925 marking is on the bottom, outside of the ring. Never found one marked like that, figured it was foreign. Just don't know what the significance is to that word and a Bear, if that is a bear. If you look at it just right, it looks like something else less woodsy. :tongue3:
