Get your first ring. I've been going
For about 3 says about 2
Hours each day and this is what I have so far. Nothing significant but so much fun

You can't expect miracles in 6 hours...

But... If you want quick results, smack yourself in the head with the detector and your ears will ring :laughing7:

Haha thanks bro I'll do that hahaa. But in all honestly you think those finds are good for
A beginner or just trash. I know it's nothing special but I love it so much even when I found
Stinkin Lincoln's i got excited. These beaches on long
Island have so much damn trash with all these party animals getting drunk every weekend an just ruining the beaches

Man oh man, so you have a lot to learn about this hobby. :laughing7:

You have to think of metal detecting like a movie, something along the lines of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly :tongue3:
Expect to have a mix of everything. The good thing is that you did score well for your first times out, and you may not be as lucky for the remainder of the year.

P.S. Drunken people are great, they tend to lose valuables :headbang: :laughing9:

Don't listen to the poster above. He's trouble that one is.
A whole six hours you say. You should of come up with a few rings. One a hour is about average.

If you are digging pull tabs you are ready to find a ring. You just need to over lap your sweeps and keep the coil level and not tip it up on the ends like a pendulum.

I think tabs are like construction cones and multiplying at night. It's amazing how many of those things everybody digs up and they never end.

Haha I know but hey everytime you get a hit on those always a smal possibility it's a ring . I don't get any down by the waves only up where people sit and party. But also find all my coins up shore and not by the water. Weird

It is a well known fact that partying people love to TIP the sand with coins, jewelery, keys and cell phones :laughing7:

I hunt in our national parks and, over here and there are some mighty "thirsty" campers .
Dang its like playing follow up to an alcoholics picnic !!

But they guys are right the tabs are like little calling cards that drunk people leave where they were and
as Spartacus :) mentioned they do drop stuff!!! :occasion14:.
Only two rings for me from our parks this year so far but, I have found a good bunch load of keys, which I give to the ranger (It keeps him happy and on side ) and, a very satisfactory amount of spendable coins.
The beaches should yield more jewelry though than my hunting ground lol :)

Oh and as Sandman put it,, its all in the swing, tilting it up at the ends of the swing really reduces depth by a nuts amount:gold-bracelet:
Good luck out there :metaldetector:
