Hummm....

Mail in rebates usually don't work and are not worth the stamp, but a good deal nevertheless.

Perfect Christmas presents for the kids!

Just gift wrap a pack and place it under the tree with a note stating, "Toy not included. No assembly required." ::)

every mail-in rebate I'v ever filled out worked.
(At least everyone I remember. Sometimes I forget them
before they come)
the trick is you must follow directions to the T.
any mistake is an excuse to say "oops... wrong !"
of course some take 3 months.

If the company intended to actually give a rebate, it would happen at the cash register.

It's intentionally made difficult, if not impossible, to comply.

I follow them to the 'T' with a very limited success rate. There are news stories everywhere about the rebate companies going bust, intentionally not honoring the rebates... it's a legal scam that the courts are finally catching up with.

I don't purchase because of a rebate...

The ones I got were worth the money.

I got tired of changing batteries, though.

I like duracells.

48 Energizer (pink bunny) batteries 13.46 Sam's Club, and I say they are better than Duracraps. I saw on the news one night about a study on dollar store batteries, Stay AWAY from them, as most are rejects from manufacturers, and many suffer from decreased power and life.....NGE

Speaking of batteries.....and we were weren't we? I can't get any life out of AA rechargeables at all. Every one I have tried lasts only about 3 hours and then suddenly drops dead! I hear others are doing better, but I have just given up on them and gone back to straight old alkalines. I have three detectors and a camera that uses AAs. Monty

For my detector I Only use Minelab Stock Recharbles.

For my Police Scanner & Camera I use Radio shack Recharbles.

& Yes they drop fast But I Believe recharging them
does save me money in the long run.

I use Store bought Alkees, Mainly for Emergencies.

Last time I bought AA's at BigLots was about 3 years ago
at .88 per pack for 4 AA's
spent about $25.00 if I remember right Buying them out
of their stock at the time.
Just ran out about a month ago.
Figure I'm good for another 3 years

Re: Just Got a good deal: 60 Alkaline AA's for $10.00

I've use every kind of alkaline battery on the market I expect. I now use only Rayovac. They are less expensive than two major brands and seem to do just as well in my equipment. I remember as a child that Rayovac was the only kind of batteries on the market at the time so I figure they got it right in 40 years! You don't want to let them lie dormant in your gear for several months though because the will deteriorate and corrode your equipment. Always take them out if you don't plan on using it for several weeks. Monty
