Smittyman picked me up early Saturday morning, and we headed for Todd Lipe's house. Todd guaranteed that we would find silver, so off we went.

We hit several places like schools, parks and a couple of permissions. As was promised, both Smittyman and I found silver. That Todd is something else!

I managed to find:
1953 Rosie
(8) Wheaties
Mill Marble
Junk Ring
Junk Earing
2000 Sacagawea Dollar
1943 Australia Penny

I really like the Australian coin, it's really large, extra green and crusty with a Kangaroo on it! What's not to like about that?

YTD silver coin #45.

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

Tom, The only way to tell if that Aussie coin is legit is to drop it on a hard surface. If it hops, it is a real Aussie coin. Congrats on a fun, productive hunt! Sub 8-)

Nice finds:thumbsup:. I have some of those Kangaroo coins. My Grandfather brought some back from WW2. He got them while he was stationed in Australia.
I remember him showing me them when I was a kid, and telling me stories about the war.

Foreign coins are always fun to find. Congrats on the silver as well. Keep it up and you might have as many silver as me! :laughing7:

Disclaimer: I did find a '44 Merc Friday evening and that puts me at 26 YTD. I'm not complaining, my goal was 25. :)

I dug one of those kangaroo coins at my parents house years ago. They were never overseas to pick one up, so no idea where it came from.

WTG Tom  congrats on the silver and Ausie coin. :occasion14: You kicking my @ss when it comes to silvers for the season. My goal is 50 and I am only at 28. I need about 1 a week thru the end of the year to hit my goal. Glad to see you pull a silver coin to end the 2 wk drought.
