Forty years ago my Judo instructor was lying in a bed dying and gave my father one of his most holy possessions. The old man of Judo was also the last samurai in his family and presented his sword to my father. He told dad find my sons that dont care about me and give it to them. Well years have gone by and my father died but before he did he told my brother and i that we were keepers of the sword until the old mans sons were found. We tried to find out when the sword was made but no one could read the characters on it. My brother just called and out of breath, seems he found one of the sons. On Sept. 15th someone here in town is going to be honored for 50 years of teaching Judo and one of the sons of the old man of judo is going to be there. Nobody knows this sword exists but thats about to change. My brother and i plan to present this sword to a man who didnt want anything to do with his father but thats ok because all we are is keepers of the sword. I will follow up with photos and man i hope this will bring good Karma...aa

AA,
This is a shameless bump so I can follow the story,
Hope it goes well.

Edit:
Trust in the standards you learned from your Dad and this man you do honor to,
By being honorable youself brings good karma , this I believe.
And by keeping the promise to your Father You honor not only him, but your whole family.

Re: Keepers of the sword

Awesome story (beginning).
Good on your Dad, Bro and You

You should tell the guy you give it to - that his 'dearly beloved Father' also said, there is a tradition with the sword.
"whomsoever will SELL this sword shall die an unnatural and cruel death"
or words to that effect 8)
otherwise make sure you keep pics of it to recognize on ebay.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone - I'm having a Father vs Son day myself (I'm Dad)
