:help: OK....So heres the jist. Over the holiday weekend I went to two different places. At one I pulled out an 1864 2 cent piece. I cant tell if its the "large banner" or "small banner" type. I need some suggestions. The thing needs to be cleaned, I havent done so yet. I need to know if its in any conditon to be worth something, should I take it to someone. I really dont know. Im kinda new at this. So any suggestions would be great. Then at the second spot I scored a 1945 merc dime and a .925 silver sun ring. Hope you all had a good 4'th. Thanks for lookin...

Great finds, congrats!!.......You have the "Large Motto" variety which is the more common variety (as opposed to the "Small Motto" variety).........This refers to the size of "In God We Trust" on the ribbon.

I wouldn't touch it at all........love that green!

Again, congrats, keep 'em comin'!

HH all!

FANTASTIC! I too found a 2 cent'er yesterday--1867. I don't know about the motto.

I have the trifecta of 2 cent pieces 1864- 1866- 1867. :headbang:
