I don't have a smart phone, but do own a couple Kindles and a iPad2. If you have a mind to it, you can save your detector manuals saved as a PDF file and emailed to your Kindle with its Kindle email address. This way while your sitting waiting for the wife or girl friend to get done shopping for shoes or fabrics, you can read your detector manual. Actually anything you downloaded into a PDF file. With the Kindle App on the Apple products you can do the same thing.

Big disadvantage to reading books on the ipad that any you bought at the Kindle store or from the Apple Store is they aren't Text to Speech , so you can't listen to them over the cars speakers unless you bought them as Audio books.
