I dug this knife yesterday while metal detecting the yard of a vacant mobile home. It is one of many rental properties my friend owns.
Now first off, I don't mean to and certainly hope I don't offend anyone with this post and I will understand if the moderators decide to not allow it. Secondly, I am in no way affiliated with the KKK and neither do I share in their beliefs. I only mean to show off my findings just as I would show a Bowie knife if I ever found one.

And now here it is along with a few other items and pennies:

On one side of the blade is stamped surgical Japan and the opposite side is Taylor Cutlery.

Wow! Lots of great info and opinions guys. I meant to look up Surgical Japan, but my mind gets bogged down and fogged up very easily nowadays.
Thanks for your replies and researching my find.

I find it very sad that you feel the need to add a disclaimer for posting a find..........BTW - The KKK are a bunch of lunatics, and no JPA the Bible does not promote that type of thinking in anyway.

If you want one they sell them at the flea market. Every weekend the same vendor has all kinds of reproduction propaganda items such as this.

I find it very sad that you feel the need to add a disclaimer for the Bible,
and I "think" refer to me "JPA" ? :tongue3:

first off your the first & Hopefully the only one to bring the bible into this,
other then the fact it's on the knife of course, & my response here :(

the klan stands for purity in race, all racial segregation,
closing our borders, white power & are 100% Christian'
hence the bible on their novelties.

But Please let's not go there.
The thread is on some finds & in particular a cool "Historical" find imo

You're right, it is sad, but the sad truth is the KKK still exist today although being a very small group. If it was a long extinct group I probably wouldn't bother with a disclaimer. Thanks for looking and HH to you.

Yes I'm not clear on why the klan is being talked about as pass tense

They were going to march in Gettysburg about a week ago,
if not for the gov shutdown

Yea! Chaulk one good thing up for the gov shutdown. Even tho; they'll continue with business as usual when the shutdown is over.

looking at the blade i would think its a recent drop (within the last 20yrs) that item would be in worse shape. Ive found over 30 pocket knives over the years and even the newer swiss army knives I find are in rough shape.
