Hi Folks , Been out for a few hunts on my resent long week end . Started at a gold mining portable steam engine battery ,stone foundation and inside back filled to form a platform. Then moved to a old grove of trees which was once a Sunday school pic-nic ground close to a country football ground. When the next day i went to a settlers farm from the land grants of 1869 but wondering stockman used the area in the 1840's

Wow! That's a heck of a lot of digging Tinpan!
Love the Transvaal War Medal and the decorative buckle, I found a similar one years ago, though not as big as yours!

Thanks Dave I,m going out to settlers farms this summer as the gold feilds have been picked clean over the past 30 years. Need a change t.p

That's a busy site Tinny if the centre bar is raised on the buckle, it's a horse harness buckle.

HI Folks Well the temp just went to 100 degrees and hoping for a cool change for the weekend . Thanks for the replies . Went to a old slab hunt ruins and managed only a single anchor motif style button which were quite fashionable right down till 1920. hard to date these sort of button. tinpan
