Large Cent and Silver

Hello All,
These are a few of the keepers I found this week. The large cent was found today 11-22-09 and except for the hole she's in pretty good shape. This my first year hunting. I really only got started in June. This a GREAT HOBBY! Thanks for looking and KEEP DIGGING!

I read today that some coins were holed so they could be sewn or pinned inside

the lining of ones coat for safe keeping.

Congrats on some nice finds. You are off to a very good start. It took me about 30 years to find my first large cent and it too was holed. At least yours is a neat hole near the top, mine was punched through right in the middle. I was thankful just to know the date. Once you have found one, I am sure you will find more.

Nice large cent even though it's holed. I have found 2 dozen large coppers in three years of detecting and only one approaches your in quality. Good job.
