Looks like a cut Large Cent to me. Rotate the pic 180 and you will see the start of a profile on a Large Cent.

Merf, I have missed your posts here. Glad to see you out and about again. That's a great start with some beautiful finds there. I am always impressed with the 2centers you dig. Just tells you that you're hitting the right age of sites to get 'em.

Agreed. Based on the position of the nose and the start, I think its a matron head largie, 1816-1839.
