Got a new permission two days ago and of coarse it's been hit already? Cascadianshadow and I both hit it that day and then again yesterday.
Managed to find a few keepers. Found an old copper pot, probably not too old but, I liked it. Had plans on cleaning it up and putting it to use.
The homeowner wanted to give me $10.00 for it and I said no way, told her it was hers.
The first day I found some wheats and two rough Indians, 1897 and a 1863. Found a buffalo looks like a 1920 something. Got some flattened coppers, railroad tracks not far from this site. And then some other relics.
I did manage my first silver since the beginning of July, 1941 merc.
Second evening hunt found some more wheats, some lead and a little coin spill. 1925 buff,1935 buff, 41 Jefferson and a wheat.
At the end of the hunt laying in front of where we parked I found a 1883 Indian.
The little lead figure was found a couple yards away on an earlier hunt.

Giving the pot to the property owner was a class act. That sort of thing helps the reputation of MD'ers and I for one am grateful for your consideration. Good karma headed your way.

That was great of you to give the homeowner the pot. Great finds

Nice hunt Deershed. I like that copper pot and lead figure. Nice of you to give it to the owner.

That was a good hunt. I love the coins. Keep on finding the good stuff.

Nice haul DS. I am partial to that lead toy figure. I have only found one, so they really look good to me.

Congrats and best of luck to you sir!

Nice collection of finds! I like the pot, take a photo of it after you clean it up. Congrats and HH

Some nice finds! Thank you for restoring the homeowners faith that there are still good and honest people in the world. God bless you!

Excellent hunt.
Giving the copper pot / planter to the home owner was the smart thing to do. You will probably get an open door invitation.

Great finds Deershed. Post a few closeup pix of your sailor and I will try to get you an ID on him! Sub 8-)

Thanks!! It was a no brainer.
She showed interest in it the day I found it. I told her I'd clean it up a little then bring it back, she only lives about a mile away. The next day she came knocking on my door apologizing for going back on her word saying we could keep what ever we found. That's when she wanted to buy it off me.
She talked with her sister and they thought they remembered it from their childhood. I told her we were more then grateful for letting us detect her property and it was no problem letting her keep it. We were happy we could tie a find back to the family.

Excellent hunt.

Probably another from WW1, this one looked like it had a light yellowish tint to it.

Right on DS. Many heap plenty good finds there. Good Luck. C9

Your soldier/sailor definitely looks WW1 era, and is an officer as he is carrying a sword in his right hand. I will hit the books and see if I can find out any information for you. Sub 8-)
