If you read the 2008 end of year results I set a target of 50 hammered for 2009. Dad & I have already made it breaking 51. We only had 44 the whole of last year!

Cut hammered of William 'the lion' - Scottish King 1165-1214 - only my second ever!
Hammered of Elizabeth I
2 Jettons - 1 nice think example I don't have!
2 Medieval beehive thimbles
Medieval purse bar
17th century sword belt fittment
RARE - 17th century token - 1652 IOHN EWIN of Cambridge making candles

What a great day on only 1.5 acres of failed crop (eaten by rabbits & crows mostly) - took 8 man hours.

That's a great haul and amazing totals. There are people on this side of the pond who pay thousands of dollars to go to England to dig what you dig every day! You should start charging admission...make a fortune!

Great bunch of relics you dug, I envy my buddy, he is heading for England in Sept. for a week hunt. He always comes home with neat coins from the Roman era.

Hi Cru, these are great finds for 8 hours. Go back for sure! The beehives are neat and nice that you already broke the hammered count. What is the object just above the beehives? And what can you tell me about this item:

Its a complete 1550s purse bar & a larger broken one above it.

The item pictured is a Georgian leg to a pot.

Whew! If you keep up your pace Britain will be a clean fill country!
Great job on your goals. Hope you find a few new good spots through the year because you'll tap out your existing ones soon! ;D

We have done some of our Fav fields for over 10 years (some have been detected by 30+ people for over 25 year!) & we still pick up plenty of stuff after a deep plough. :) However, we have discovered 2 new spots last year which have never been done (we can tell) & they are going to produce big time! However, we may finds some new areas as we have 1000s of unsearched acres!
