Out for 5hrs today on the newly added field with a roman farm on it. We gridded another part of the field and came back empty handed.
A couple coins, barrel tap, pewter spoon handle...all stuff lost the last 200 years or so. Loads of roman pottery told us were in the right area until i found a LED torch, probably lost by a nighthawk. Time to change fields.
With the sun going down i only made three rows on a site i had good results the last years. Stumbled over two roman scrappies and eyeballed a big Silver before i even got my coil over it. It's the 6th big silver from this field and this part of it. Otherwise a strictly roman site i start thinking Hoard. I have to talk to the farmer. :laughing7:
