My son and I hunted a Civil War and old home site on the 10th of February and thought you might enjoy some pics. It was a balmy 41 degrees (The weatherman said it was suppose to be 54), cloudy, and the wind was blowing non-stop out of the North, but we enjoyed ourselves nontheless. Here's what we found: Three wheat pennies, a Henry shell and bullet, a musket ball, misc. lead, a brass ring, a rivet with leather still attached, a Sharps Carbine shell with a surprise inside, and a carved .58 caliber bullet. Looks to me like the carved bullet is probably a chess piece. The Sharps shell has a stick that looks to have been deliberatly cut, whittled, and stuck inside.
