A few miles from me is an old copper mine. Part of the old Elizibeth mines.
This area is open to people, trails everywhere. Its popular with locals with atv's, dirt bikes, etc.
The following pictures are of a mineral found all over the wast piles. I think it is called BORNITE.
If I am right does this stuff have any value?? Very neat stuff, very heavy.
How common is this stuff??

Most any mineral with 'shine' will sell, try some
Rock shops away from your area if possible.
Dealers usually buy by the pound, & sell by the
'piece'.
