I was just sitting here reviewing everyone's finds for today when I got this phone call from my neighbor. He knows that I had a metal detector and was desperate to find his wedding ring he just now dropped in his yard! He had just brought the family back from swimming at a local beach and when he got out of the car he'd taken the ring out of a pocket, (where he keeps it so he don't lose it while swimming. LOL ) Anyway, he fished it out and promptly dropped it, in the dark, on the driveway. He heard it hit and figured it bounced off into the deep grass. He told me he had been searching for hours!!! Couldn't find it. Then, he remembered me.

I didn't even dress, just slipped on my house slippers and went over in my PJ's. LOL

It took me all of 15 minutes to find it but that ain't the kick. After I gave it back to him and wrestled my hand back from him, I moved my detector to start toward home and yep, a hit, A good one! AND right over the spot where I picked up the ring. I looked at him and he looked at me, (you have to understand, this guy is a lawn FREEK! He said, go ahead. I borrowed a screwdriver from him and popped out this!

What was that about "no good deed goes unpunished"? LOL!!!

HH! everyone!

Well, at the risk of assuming myself in with the ones who "write well", that was a very nice reply! Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed.

Assumption correct! Hate to say it, but some posts are just painful to try and figure out what the poster is trying to say : (

Two nice recoveries. It's always good to find big silver, even if it is only 40%.

Just a small update. When I waved at my neighbor this morn he called me over. He said he wanted to show me why he won't let me hunt his yard. (lawn freak, remember?). He took me over to the driveway where I found his ring and my half. He pointed to a small patch of grass that was obviously browned a bit, (not much mind you but enough for him to notice :) ).

Now, if you recall, I picked his ring up off the surface, with my fingers. (maybe the hot sauce I was eating? lol )

And, the half dollar? I borrowed a screwdriver from him and popped it out from about 2 inches.

( I dunno, maybe he thinks the detector's magnetic coil kills grass?!?! LOL )

I asked him what he thought might have caused it, my fingers or sticking a screwdriver in the ground? (He runs an aerator over his lawn every so often. LOL )

I told him, it looked more like a repaired divot, like from a golf club. He said his son's name under his breath and then thanked me again for his ring. Then, I went on my way. :)

HH!
