1830 half dollar
First I want to appologize for the crappy picture.I took about 6 pictures and this was the only one that down loaded.I probably walked over this 1830 half about 100 times before finding it.It was tucked in between two pieces of the foundations entrance. When I swung over the area,I heard a faint chime.I looked down and saw a rusty piece of iron and thought that was strange,so I moved the iron and hit it again and got a faint chime. So I said what heck I'll dig!!When I picked up the trowel I saw a silver rim and my heart stopped!!!!!! I slowly brushed the dirt off and saw the word United !!! I think I stared at it for 15 seconds not believing what I was looking at !! I put my detector down and I went to the shoreline and rinsed the dirt off and there it was!!!! Don't laugh, but I held this coin up in the air and thanked the resorvoir for this gift, about 30 times hahahahah.I took it a dealer today and he said he would grade it fine to very fine and offered me $120.00 for it.Its back home in a safe place. Its a gorgeous coin and its worth more to me than that.I started detecting this foundation in May I think. To date its given me:
13-large cent
2- 3 cent silver 1856,1858
2-half dimes 1849,1849
4-indians 1899,1866,1867,1905
2-dime 1874,1821
2-half reales 1825,?
1-pistol
and many other cool relics
