Sure wish I lived close but I'm in Indiana, I'm going to try and get to Thermal City in NC once this June hopefully. Do you have a creek on your property? Good luck hope you got lots of gold on your property.

A pan is much cheaper and easier to test with. A sluice is more for production after you find the gold. Gotta crawl before you can walk!

Other than that I'd +2 for Angus sluices. Can't go wrong with them.

You'll find that it mainly comes down to personal preference what people like to use depending on the area. I alternate between my traditional Cali drop riffle sluice and my Folding 52" one I've modified to take Dream Mat. With either one I use a catch bucket in case anything manages to escape, so far so good when I've come to panning the cons in the bucket not a single spec has managed to escape the sluice. As long as you set them up and feed them right they all do their job well.
