I am still working on the cleaning but they look so much better. I have only been detecting for 4 months and have been so frustrated, but I think this made me feel better.

I got my first detector at xmas and have a 7yr old and a baby so I have not been out much but have done oretty good the handful of times I have....the coin spill you found is amazing!...If you don't mind me asking what state are you in?I live in Maryland on the eastern shore.... recently got a sweet spot that has given up an 1800's pocketwatch backplate or oiece of a snuff box with ornate engravings and at the same spot just got an ornate colonial flat button

The 1891 coin is a Morgan Silver Dollar. These are some of my favorite coins.

They consist of 90% silver. And the silver melt value is somewhere around $16.
The coin, however, is always more valuable than that.

For an 1891 Morgan in poor condition, you are looking at a value of about $25.
The same coin in perfect, uncirculated condition is worth thousands of dollars.

Your coin appears to be in pretty good shape. Not really toward the top of the scale, but definitely not the worst. I think it could be worth somewhere around $50 or more. You could always take it in to a coin shop and see what they think.
