Hit a hole with alot of lead shot in it about 100 pieces in 2 pans worth. I found some fine gold but nothing really good. I only was able to dig about 2 feet down till me shovel broke. Would this be a good spot to keep on digging deeper? Thanks.

Keep digging you ole horse and enjoy the ride.
Was the shot closer to the surface or in the bottom of the hole? :icon_scratch:

Sounds just like a spot I hit last year, lots of lead but no gold. My thought on this is the river I was in has a lot of fines and small flakes that don't travel down the river the same as heavy nugget gold. After doing some more testing the gold was around the corner and up the bank higher. More of a flood gold type thing, if there was any bigger gold I believe I wood have hit the motherload but not one flake from the spot where all the lead came from.
I think it comes down to the size of the gold and how heavy it is.
Just my thought on that...

Pictures of that lead removed from rivers should be shown to every Governor and Legislators in gold mining states. Proof that out work is making the environment cleaner, not polluted.

Its a good thought, but its not how our govmint works. Rather than note the good done by prospectors in removing the lead they will just ban the use of firearms on public lands ::)
