Hey guys, I metal detect every chance I get and have been detecting at a turn of the century site. I would love to find something silver or gold, but I have actually loved digging up the old bottles lol I see why people love it so much. I found a vicks vaporub bottle, a hazel atlas bottle that I have no clue what was in it, and today a very tiny bottle that says "the name st joseph assures purity" on it. I actually put the detector down today just to hunt for some bottles. May be equal to metal detecting lol

actually if you Google "how to clean dug bottles" or something like that, you will get a bunch of ideas. I actually like a little "oldness" left on my bottles. And for the love of God don't clean a bottle that has that rainbow-desert-salts patina on it....

I take copper shot and toilet cleaner. Fill the bottle half full with each and go to shaking. That is what I've done to all mine that I've ever posted. I make no guarantees but I have never broken one doing it that way. Is that St. Joseph's wide but very thin? I think I have one like it. HH.

Hey Josh wouldn't that be a coincidence if mreese had the same kind of bottle we found?

That would be pretty cool. I couldn't believe it when I dug mine intact. It's so fragile.

Its when they knew how to make things. Now you just get cheap packaging and cheap products.
