Phil's email to me about same question:
Hi Charles

The mag as shown on the CD is packaged for land use.

The mag can be packaged for water use.

It is surely best to keep the electronics on board while dragging thr sensors behind the boat. The sensors have an impedance of around one thousand ohms and each can be towed on a single coaxial cable.

A scuba version could be built since it is basicly a very small device. It's all in the final packaging !

Some underwater users are now using toroidal sensors which are non-directional and do not have to be aligned with East - West. It is best to build the electronics and sensors as shown on the CD to get the mag working. Then if you try a toroid you will be assured that your mag works.
Sincerely, Phil
