I will preface this thread with this: I do not mark coins and could care less if you do or not.. So please no comments on your opinions if it is right or wrong blah blah blah

This thread is soley for the posting of marked coins found and location. Hopefully this can someway help all of us figure out circulation patterns and practices of the distributors.

These were found today 10/31 In Southern IL. Along with 2x40%ers:-)
Catch and release of course..

I just found dozens and dozens of halves marked 9/12 in yellow on the front. Anybody here that does that?
What was surprising was even though there were at lease 50-60 I still found a walker.
BTW I live in Pa

I pull all of the marked coins out and spend them, just to mess with whoever does it. The only ones I see are marked with "J"s, and I haven't seen one in a while.

I put a green dot on "Y" in the word Liberty... i dont go through much coinage though.

i just mix the ones i find marked already back into the rolls and dump at the bank.

These in the photo below were found in Oakland County Michigan

Edit

Forgot, i found this single one today in 1 of the 4 customer wrapped rolls the bank said they have been sitting on for a year now, its painted.

Picked these up in Waller TX, the little blue dot on Kennedys ear is difficult to see on the upper left coin but there were a lot of them in there.

I dont have pictures but here I about alot labeled in with black sharpie like "1200" "1020" etc. Either counting or dates, not sure. All the rolls had silver though.

Found these in the last three boxes.

I noticed that a lot of my coins have marks on the edge. Do folks who edge check draw a line across the stack?

I searched a box from a Chase in North Austin, TX and many of the coins were marked. I'll save them next time. Despite the markings, I still found a 40%.
