This is why I no longer search quarters. You do it hardcore, and your results prove why doing quarters is just a waste of my time. Finding 3 out of almost 32,700 is so low it's crazy.

True, but most of the quarters I searched through were looking through the clear plastic rolls (450 of the 799 rolls) at the tellers windows without actually buying them. Takes about a minute to look through a whole box. Unfortunately if the tellers pick through them as well, my numbers will be skewed low. I believe this happens to some extent. Last year, though, I did have one teller who did pick through them tell me they found about 1 silver quarter about every 4 boxes which isn't much higher than my numbers.

I tried slot machine hunting a little last year and have done slightly better, about 1 quarter every $500, but I haven't done much volume to prove if it was a fluke or typical results. The casino I did this at went coinless recently so I stopped going.
