Mding in deep grass

I have found an excellent site, however there is one problem. The grass is so high it is difficult to swing the detector and there is so much grass above the ground I know that I am losing depth. I've considered buying a larger coil to compensate, but I'll lose out on the smaller coins. What is the best solution? Please don't say bring along a lawnmower!!
