merc, indian and don't know...help

went to old govenors mansion this morning,it has been hunted before but figured i would give it a try.found a 29 merc ,1880 indian and handfull of wheats oldest a 17.also found a coin or token of some sort that i can't identify,it looks like a penny but isnt listed anywhere....hope these pics post ok just got new scanner and computer so who knows...hh jon

Nice find. What did they do with these tokens? Spend them?

During the War between the states many people hoarded coins.These were privately issued and used in place of 1 cent pieces during that time.They became illegal to make and spend in June of 1864,however possessing them was legal and they have been collectible and collected ever since.
