I heard about a local curb and sidewalk tear-out yesterday, so Brett and I decided to check it out
this afternoon. That didn't pan out for us so we tried a park that I dug a Merc from earlier this week. My first signal turned out to be a 1919 Merc, and I thought it was a 1/2 Reale at first as it was so chewed up and bent. After a wheat or two I got another good signal next to some junk. It was so close that I couldn't even get a decent pinpoint on it. But I had put on my 6x10dd coil to work the vertical curb cuts earlier and was just too lazy to switch it back. Glad I did as I don't think my regular coil would have picked up on this coin. Turned out to be a 45 Merc and my 50th silver for the year.
Now, on to 100 or maybe I should just make it 75. ;D

Thanks for looking guys!

Oh man!!! Only the second Merc I've ever seen that I didn't think was gorgeous! :o

She may not be pretty, but she found a good home and I'll bet you're glad to have her!

Congrats on the nice finds and for hitting your 50th!!!   :icon_king:

Nice, even if she's a "two-bagger"...

But then I'm no cover boy myself, so I'd take her even without the Corona's and last call.....

I don't think I've veer seen a merc quite like that bent, scuffed one. Interesting, looks like it's been burned. I'm surprised Kimsdad doesn't think it's gorgeous! Ever heard of unconditional love, Neil?? :D

Congrats on your #50 silver! You're getting up there!

Way to go on finding 50 silver this year already! I'm glad I was there to record the event, which I'll post just soon enough. I was really hurting that day huntng. I think I got 4 wheaties total, one of which was at the tear up. Now I just need grove to go to so I can jump ahead again ;-)
