Airplane. You can tell the sun is setting, but is still shining up at the planes altitude. If you look at it you can see the double contrails from the engines.

She said it looked like it was going down but if was high enough it would look that way I think plane is most likely it was dusk

lol, blame everything on the aliens. ^_^ It looks like a plane to me. I see a lot of that where I live because I'm not that far away from an air force base. Fireballs don't have two smoke trails.
