Is that "Dr. Brown's gas?"

I'll have to go over and look at the site...

I've heard it mentioned before.

:) Micron Gold recovery using Mechanical separation can be accomplished,
it is not easy to get a concentrate out of hard rock ore without loosing the
Micron Gold particles.

When your Gold is this fine you need to have patience...

Micron Gold Captured.jpg

Find a process that will give you a concentrate with the fine micron particles
remaining in the concentrate.

Then find a process to remove those fine particles without loosing them.

If you have discovered a process or a technique that works and are willing to
share, please feel free to post it here for the benefit of all, thank you.

Needles;

According to page 13 of the document, linked to below, (its in pdf format), from the California Geological Survey website, the Reichert cone might be worth looking into.
http://www.consrv.ca.gov/cgs/geologic_resources/gold/Documents/SP87.pdf

Reichert cones accept feed with a density of
between 55-70% solids by weight. The unit is very efficient at
recovering fine particle sizes and effectively concentrates material
from 30 to 325 mesh (roughly 0.5mm to 45 microns). In
a test at the Colorado School of Mines Research Institute
(CSMRI), a measured sample processed in a Reichert cone
yielded a concentrate which contained 95% of the gold (free
gold and sulphides) that represented 28% of the original feed
weight. Other tests found recoveries of free gold in excess of
90% and consistent recovery of gold smaller than 325 mesh
(45 microns) (Spiller, 1983).

Might want to check out this list of gold recovery methods also:

And if your really like drawings of all kinds of prospecting equipment, I just ran across this website;
http://sleekfreak.ath.cx:81/3wdev/CD3WD/APPRTECH/G10TOE/INDEX.HTM
The above page has numerous links, including one to the following page that has info and drawings of various recovery devices:
http://sleekfreak.ath.cx:81/3wdev/CD3WD/APPRTECH/G10TOE/B1125_23.HTM
You can even download everything in the form of a .iso file, (theres a link at the top of the page), to burn to a CD, but its 680 Megabytes.

There's another publication on the Environmental Impacts of Small Scale Mining here:

Have a nice day!

It has a series of magnets built in. Black sands in the magnetic field build riffles that catch the fine gold. Thing is, their "liquid" riffles, impossible to clog up. Each time the black sand is disturbed by material running over it, the gold just sinks deeper and deeper into it.

Nice little slickplate.

Like I said, works pretty good for fines. You'll wanna catch your nuggets earlier in the process though. ;)
Saw that, and was wondering to myself would a piece of magnetic sign material work the same? Haven't gotten a chance to check some of the custom sign shops for sizes of material & pricing. Have any of you thought of mag signs or have used it?

Hey all

I tried magnetic sign material (you can buy them on ebay for 6 to 7 bucks) buy two (2) because a single one is not going to work. what you do is cut to strips 6" wide and remove the colored plastic film from one strip only and glue the two strips together (make sure the colored strip is on the top side) with a good strong waterproof glue . instead of building a sliuce I sild it directly into my 6"x24" mini sluice and it worked just great. I'll try to post pic's tomarrow.

Does anybody have an opinion on the new Angus MacKirk Orofino shaker table versus the GlobalMiningSolutions RP-4 Shaker Table? The difference is about $500 in price. Thanks.
Cheers,

Greetings!!!!

Sir i have an area with high quality of Gold deposit,it is 42,121 hectares of Ancestral Domain Land, we already get samples and have it test at the laboratory,,it has 12gram/ton result. We need more sampling inside our area to determine the deposit before we make the regular exploration,, the tribe don't have the capacity to do this work,,we are looking for a joint partner in this operation,,you can contact me if you are interested on this project. You are very much welcome to visit our area..hope to hear from you soon...Please open the link to see our sampling in the area http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LICO55Y9

This topic had nearly died and been forgotten. But since its back, I thought I'd mention that those Canadians interested in the "CleanGold" Sluice, could find it here:
http://www.irl.bc.ca/miningexploration/mining.htm#Cleangold
They have several other products available.

As for the mention of using "fridge" magnets that "oppose" each other. I'm not sure that they would last long, as when opposite poles of magnets repel against one another, they tend to loose strength. They may work long enough to do the job though.

im using rare earth magnets on mine. i bought them from www.wondermagnet.com or do a google search to find another source/location that has the desired shape/price you want. i use them above my sluice in four spots along my sluice. and they are in 3/4 pvc pipe so i can wipe off the BS when it gets loaded.

How big of a batch? =

How much Bleach ? =

How much Muriatic Acid ? =

How much time and What drops the Gold out of the leaching solution?

:dontknow: Thank you, Needle.
