Without knowledge, there can be no wisdom.
Without wisdom, the spirit of a man can be mislead.

Mirrors reflect what we think we see.

Hold a book in front of a mirror and it reads backwards, but not upside down.
Trust what you know.

Hello All

It seems there is no easy task hunting down these legends. A thankless one at that. Yet kudos to those who have persevered in their quest. I understand all the heart aches in such journeys, with the successes and failures. The isolation and indifference by family members with no more interest and indifference in your long journey. Many think X marks the spot and just walk up and take it?

If only it was all that simple as the reality of matter can be very different. Perhaps that is why such treasure are still proverbially lost.....Daring those to dream. There can be complex issues to addressed to achieve the next step. Ironic is it not that one can a lifetime of research and be held up by one of those almost insurmountable issues to resolve? Yet here I find various people who have dedicated their lives in quest to uncover truth of such legends stuck on proverbial Hilary steps of their own personal Mount Everest.

Ironic indeed that others with no research and some times by pure luck and change can stumble on a great treasure.

Dame fortune can indeed be a evil choosey *****.

But enough lamenting the price one pays to dare to dream...For it is a spark that springs life in precious few, a rare bread of extraordinary people. And it sure beats the sad sack of people wasting their hard earned money 3am in morning at Casino all hoping to be the big winner. All humping the American dream that has turned into a night mare for many. And that dream my friend is not just an American one but a universal one.

Thus hunters of treasure legends push beyond where other fear to tread. And that my friends you can say that your part of a very exclusive group of individuals, Daring delve into secret world of lost treasures.

There are countless treasures out there all waiting to be discovered.

All is needed is a spark to ignite the fires of hunger.....

So a toast with your favorite brew to Fortune and glory...

I have another yarn for ya....

Ha mirrors? I look into that old mirror and what do I see a wrinkled reflection of me. And what of hair so think shiny and bright? Now all thin and going white. And what of those legs as strong that ran like a deer, now like two bottles of beer. An evil reality check of mortality my friend.

I am Like an old Mechanics work ute run into ground with bits and pieces missing and a few things not working but still chugging away. Even if I am parked in garage with beautiful sleek sports car. She is a head turner and our offspring a new model with features from both destined to leave this old ute for dead. Some say its not the age but the mileage and sadly I have been around that dammed clock too many times.

One more project to finish and then I and then I am done or so I keep telling myself.:laughing7:

Crow

Senior Crow, I also dread looking in the mirror as I have the same results as you, ( and Don Jose ), but that mirror is ONLY an illusion. I do not feel anywhere near as old as what I see in the mirror. I suppose being surrounded by guys half my age help motivate myself to keep up AND put to shame some of these kiddies. It works both ways, I learn to feel young while giving them MUCH needed older generation advice. Much like the great "Experiences of Life " you and the "UnHoly Trio" and Don Jose share with us.

The trouble is some times being a un politically correct I can be awfully blunt and that upsets the new age save the global warming handicapped ethnic gay whale femo Nazis.:laughing7:

Being a dinosaur I cannot remember when they sized power around the world? Was I drunk at time I cannot remember voting for em? :icon_scratch:When did they make womanizing illegal? A cannot remember where they came from? Hell everyone is protected by politically correct laws these days except if your a white male. Illegal to call a chalkboard a blackboard but hey its okay to call it a whiteboard? Forget manholes only a sexist bast... calls em manholes my friend it a person hole now. :icon_scratch:

When did everyone become so thin skinned? I have been called everything under sun ya don't see me complaining of discrimination. When did everyone turn into such princess? When did we all start pandering to world of sooks? Hell we can shoot terrorists but cannot call em tent heads. :laughing7:

When and where did all this happen was I busy chasing skirt, drinking and running amuck to realize?:laughing7:

Such is the curse my friend spending a life time hunting treasures.....

Simon as you could imagine this raggedy old Crow with flappy old beak gets himself into trouble more than he cares to admit. Perhaps that is why I am just about stateless

However I did promise a yarn?

So where was I?

True Crow , all this "Politically Correct" B.S. has gone way to far. Use to be, some things were just a "given", now they are twisted. Just my two cents, since I very little money left after giving so much coffee away to Don Jose, he is one thirsty person, course, buying him coffee is cheaper than your beverage of choice, from what the legends say. :notworthy:

Yes, back to that story you were about to tell.

I fade in an out these days like regular ghost....that and grand pa naps.

You know the Pacific is full of treasure legends and stories that is perhaps why it intrigued me so. Kids today are so brainwashed with Disney pirates of Caribbean of a stereotype typical image of 16th-17th century pirates and mascara. In reality piracy came in general in 2 phases. One as golden age of piracy and the much later mini golden age of Piracy. The mini golden age of piracy was between about 1811 and about 1830 before the main navies of world came together to stamp out piracy because it was starting to impact on world trade. America predominately stamped out much of the piracy. This era was much more ruthless than the original golden era of piracy as for most it was Dead me tell no tales policy to those ships capture in this period. that said there was still isolated incidents of piracy outside these two main eras.

The following treasure yarn dates to events predating the civil war and perhaps the seed of this that brought these events to life was influenced by events of the earlier Texas war with Mexico.

But you have to forgive me for now as the old Crow needs to lubricate to loosen his beak.....

To be continued....
