You didn't say what detector you will be using. If not using a detector with a saltwater mode you may have trouble in the wet sand due to salt and black sand together.

Thanks Sandman! I'll check out the site.

Well, my partner and myself are new to the beach thing. He's fishing with a Whites and the only detector i have is an Ace 250. I wasn't really planning to go into the water. But I'm eager to try it just the same.

Go to http://local.live.com to research the beaches from aerial photographs. Pascagoula, Ms across from Longfellow House would be a good choice. If it didn't produce the then go hunt the public park at Longfellow House. Civil War re-enactments were once played out there in case you find anything Civil War and it looks new. ;)

Ah! That's cool! I've seen Civil War re-enactments. I've seen Civil War artifacts. But I've never heard of finding Civil War re-enactment artifacts. :P Thanks for the help!!! ;D
