Monday's excursion reaped good results

Last weekend we visited family on the way to our vacation, and since they live in an area with a lot of retirees I decided to spend Monday morning going around to several banks. The first bank of the morning said that they had a widow that brought in $240 of halves, and apparently he had them for a long time so my imagination was running wild with what they could have. I quickly bought them and in the parking lot checked the first roll - found one 40%. Next roll - three 40%'s. Next ones weren't so good but found a total of 10 40%'s between 6 rolls. Pic attached.

Several other banks had a few halves and Ike dollars - more on that later. I found one 40% half from a teller tray, an almost black '67. Another bank had two boxes, one $440 already searched and a full box with only 3 rolls searched. I saw Brinks rolls but I took a chance and found a '67 in the unsearched rolls. It was still fun because I got my wife involved with the search. She used to be a teller for years before our daughters were born so he had a bit of fun with me. Pic of those coins attached.

In my last bank of the morning they didn't have any half dollars but when I asked for Ike dollars the kind young woman said she had "silver dollars". I make it a point not to say that so as not to confuse some innocent teller into thinking the clad dollars are silver and possibly hoarding them in the future, but this time I coolly said yes and bought all $8.

When sitting down waiting to open an account I pulled out the envelope and started looking at them, 'cause something had caught my eye when she was sliding them into the envelope. Picture attached.

Is that second Peace dollar a 1928 plain? If so, you have one of the keys with a mintage of only 360,000. Check the reverse for a mintmark.

Unfortunately it is a 1923 and I don't see mint marks one either. Oh well, still happy with the find. Thanks.
