While enjoying my coffee this morning, I checked the weather (sunny, 50s).......looked at my honey-do list........checked the weather........honey-do list............weather.........
I did some calculations and determined that I had about a 90 minute window to hunt and still get my chores done. I did my one "traveling" chore and headed to a local field that was once a school playground, ball field and is home to the local Lion's Club carnival. Well my 90 minutes turned into 60 because I was interrupted by a retired teacher walking his dog........we chatted for about 30 minutes. Until he stopped by, I was just picking clad and trash. Afterwards...........

My 3rd War nick for the year and second piece of silver jewelry, a flat button, a cuff link and a junk ring.........sorry about the dirt, no time to clean anything.
Sure hope he stops to chat again tomorrow!!
Thanks for lookin' in and good luck to all on you hunting adventures............

Thanks, Tommy. My honey has taken it easy on me over the years. She's very capable........asks for power tools for gifts!! (Yep, I'm very lucky) Most of the people who stop to chat are park maintenance, school maintenance and LEOs.........it's great to have someone who is curious about the hobby stop to talk.

Thanks, Wildcat. I didn't find my 1st silver coin until April or May last year and the majority of the silvers (6) were War Nicks. Sure hope this pace continues through 2017!!

Looks like you found a honey hole Chizzy. Congrats on those digs and for your 3rd OD nickel. :occasion14:

Thanks, Loco-Digger. There's not a lot of clad or trash but there are a few goodies that someone missed. Here's yesterdays keepers..........

A steel wheat, a heavy .925 earring and a couple of interesting items.........not shown are a couple square nails. Its a large field and will take some time to cover.

We are not at all offended by the dirt, no need to apologize...
Great digs!.... I don't know if I'll ever find a cufflink....

Thanks, Dave.......I just like to clean up the keepers a bit for presentation here.
The cuff link is my second........yours is out there waiting for your coil!!

Congratulations on your finds and on getting out.
I still can't believe this January weather.

Thanks, atw........I checked my records for last January......$1.59 total. This January is 10x over that amount and I ain't givin' up til the ground freezes (again)!!
