I love it when your find pouch feels like your rubbish pouch 8)
Spent 6.5 hours (13 man hours) in the burning sun today. Had an 1hr break at the halfway point. This is the 4 day in a row & I'm feeling it a bit.
The target was 10 roman coins & 1 hammered silver, no luck on the hammered but I got a 1817 sixpence. We had 6 roman coins each. I evened it up in the last minute
Dad had the best Roman of Allectus (Very Rare) it had a old hole in it. Often described as the Saxon's using it as a pendant & making the Emperor look at their feet as a sign of disrespect. But I think it was done after his defeat by other Roman's loyal to the winning Emperor. Allectus was a self proclaimed Emperor of Britain & minted this coin in London.
A nice early medieval/Norman buckle with plate cica 11-12 century. A nice spectacle type with iron pin (rare)
17th century clothes fastener
18th century clog clasp (4 roses)
Medieval book clasp
2 mystery roman objects (Acorn & spinning top )
Medieval belt decorations & more.....
