I love it when your find pouch feels like your rubbish pouch 8)

Spent 6.5 hours (13 man hours) in the burning sun today. Had an 1hr break at the halfway point. This is the 4 day in a row & I'm feeling it a bit.

The target was 10 roman coins & 1 hammered silver, no luck on the hammered but I got a 1817 sixpence. We had 6 roman coins each. I evened it up in the last minute :)

Dad had the best Roman of Allectus (Very Rare) it had a old hole in it. Often described as the Saxon's using it as a pendant & making the Emperor look at their feet as a sign of disrespect. But I think it was done after his defeat by other Roman's loyal to the winning Emperor. Allectus was a self proclaimed Emperor of Britain & minted this coin in London.

A nice early medieval/Norman buckle with plate cica 11-12 century. A nice spectacle type with iron pin (rare)
17th century clothes fastener
18th century clog clasp (4 roses)
Medieval book clasp
2 mystery roman objects (Acorn & spinning top ???)
Medieval belt decorations & more.....

I suspect a combination of clogged dies and surface wear makes the letters that are supposed to be in the reverse field non-existent Crusader. Not sure though. Are you sure the coin in-hand has NO EVIDENCE of letters in the fields? I will check R.I.C. to see if there is anything listed with no letters.

Awesome finds Crusader and Dad! The finds explain a nice hunt but, with all those hours invested, I can relate to how it was going, slow and I am sure you earned those finds, LOL. HH, Mike

You might like it slow, but I was on fire & no bugger was putting me out!

I was digging rubbish like it was going out of fashion.

Your coin is indeed unlisted in R.I.C. if there are definitely no reverse field marks. There is a Pax reverse for Allectus that has no reverse field marks; however, on that example the scepter is transverse and Allectus is facing left holding a spear and shield. (RIC V (part 2) 33).

Well not just that.... but back then, people hid their valuables offen. Specially when there were raids by others. I heard.. some fellow over there, unearth a treasure of gold items belonging to a single family! I'm sure there is a lot more to find.
