They're like pigeons. Hang out around lawns and ponds, crapping on everything, sidewalks. Attack people and pets. They are a nuisance animal. Nice pics, by the way.

They're pretty good around here. Lots of wheat fields they can go to rather than lawns. I've never had any attacks either.

The three families of geese at the neighbor's pond had about 30 babies. They were running and looked like grey and yellow footballs with feet! They had their heads down when they ran, it was funny.

The geese have moved into parks and subdivisions and apartment complexes around here to to eat the grass and hang out on the ponds. Swarms of them. The sidewalks and lawns are covered in excrement, and the adults are very aggressive in protecting their young, attacking, children, adults, pets. They will fly up and attack peoples heads and backs when they duck for cover. I used to like geese. This urbanized/wild variety is awful.

They introduced them in to Oklahoma state parks some years ago. And they stay there year round. Campers at first thought that was great, and would feed them, until they found out they crap all over everything. They use those propane 'crow guns' to scare them off the golf course at Ft. Cobb State Park.

Great pics!

We used to stay at Grand Saint Marys Lake, oh maybe 35 years ago when we started. My in-laws had a place up there, also. I always called the place where we stayed, "Goose Poop Island." One weekend, my in-laws picked up our daughter, who was just learning how to talk, and took her up there. Now, as many of you know, when kids learn how to talk, they say what they hear from there parents. We had potty mouths, at the time, and my in-laws are strict Mormons. The story we got when they brought her home was that my daughter was stepping out of the camper and there was goose poop every where, and clear as a bell she says, " What the h:censored:l is that s:censored:t?" We were mortified!

Nice photos. They are abundant here also. Yes they can be a pain in the butt sometimes especially when with their young. Thanks for sharing.
