My mom has 2 car engines sitting around that my brother left behind when he moved out. What would be the best way of getting rid of them?? Do you just junk them the way they are or would you tear them down some. I don't know what might be worth removing before junking so I'm looking for any advice.

One more question on this subject, when you junk a motor, do you have to drain the fluids first??

Id call your brother and ask him if he wants anything saved, Id drain out as much fluid as possible, An engine is mostly iron but some parts can be aluminum. Some copper.

You need to drain the fluids for almost all yards. Unless it is aluminum, I would not bother myself due to the hassle but every bit counts!

a used cylinder head can get several hundred $ depending on what engine its from.. (not scrap!)

I wouldnt metal scrap one unless I knew it was total junk.
Put them on your local craigs list for sale, much better than scrap prices.
