Ready for another one? This is for treasure hunters in South/Central Florida. This is not about a particular Warbird accident but is about the airfields they flew out of. In and around Arcadia are (or were) 3-airfields where thousands of AvCads received Basic and Primary flight training. Many, many Stearman PT-17s were pranged or destroyed at Carlstrom Field. Carlstrom was one of the oldest airfielda in Florida, going back to WW I, or the Great War. Where there were accidents there are trash dumps. Here's a more detailed report on Carlstrom. Pay close attention to the last paragraph.
Also included is a link to a web page about a cemetery in Arcadia where many RAF cadets killed in Florida are buried.
