On a hunting trip with my brother-in-law I took to exploring the old semi-collapsed barn of his friend's property in Eastern PA. My detector pinged on lots or iron objects, nails, tool parts and such and then near the end of my time here it squelched on this coin. It was embedded right in the surface just beneath a piece of fallen lumber that lay just inches above it. :::I love it when I don't have to dig:::
I hope I can get back in there in the spring for a longer search.
Anyway...I'm not a coin guy so can someone tell me what something like this goes for in value? $5-10. sound reasonable?

This 1879 might have the reverse of 78', but not easy to tell because of the wear, This coin is worth $35 and up.

No such "bent arrow" VAM so I don't know where you're getting this information. It's not worth $150 in this condition anyway.
