We hit a new beach today. Didn't except much as it was smaller and completely empty of swimmers, and had remnants of scoop holes from past treasure hunters.

This is the third time out with my new Snake coil and I have been concentrating in the very shallow surf area which was productive the first two hunts.

Lots and I mean lots of junk. Running my AT Pro open from 30 and up.

I got a hit that sounded worth investigating and took a scoop. Nothing in the hole and nothing in the scoop...damn, it fell through the drain holes!

After playing hide and go seek about 3 times I finally saw the target. At first I thought it was a hearing aid battery. Then I noticed writing and thought , great a aluminum toy money coin from the 50's.

Upon picking it out and examining the coin closer I noticed a C with stars...that's when I almost crapped myself LOL.

A silver Three Cent piece!!! Might not be a big deal in your part of the country, but in my neck of the woods we don't find many of these little guys.

I called my hunting buddy over and told him what I had and of course he thought I was BS'ing him.

We ended the day with about 20 clad, 2 junk rings, and 3 silvers..... a 1852 3 cent, 1935 Quarter and a 1955 Rosie.

God I love that feeling on old silver. My oldest is a 1829 Spanish Mexican 8 Reales I found last month. I am now wearing it around my neck in the bezel...

Thanks everyone.

In the last 2-3 weeks I scratched 2 coins of my list. A seated coin and, well honestly, the 3 cent piece was never on my list because I thought the chance of me finding one was 0%. I guess you never know what will be in that next scoop or hole!!!
