Took a ride out to the same area I’ve been door knocking and even though I was turned down 3 times today but I did talk to the owners and learned quite a bit of local history. Ended up at a farm field I’ve hit before but decided to follow the old cart path into a small section of woods between fields and ended up finding 2 odd 10’ diameter loose stone bases with massive piles of quahog shells near them, very interesting!! So I decided maybe this was a gathering place for possibly trade or sale of the farms goods that date back to the mid 1700s. I found my first couple of coins along the path which included 3 Indians and a Barber dime, a few musket balls and shotgun shells....then out of nowhere a small 15x15 area was loaded with solid clean signals, the cache of coins consisted of 5 silver dimes-(1892-O, 1899, 1905-S, 1907 barbers, 1873 & 1876-CC Seated Liberties), 1882 shield “5” nickel, large copper(1905 Canadian largie after cleaning up), 1900 V nickel, 18 IHP’s. Don’t worry all the holes were properly filled after digging all the signals in the area, makes it easier to see a pattern. Absolute Best day in the woods with bucket listers galore! I’m ready for a celebratory drink!!
