Swingin' my detector today on a little remote island in the northern Gulf of Mexico, found about $3.40 of clad. My daughter eyeballs a diamond studded loop earring (probably fake) and a .925 silver bracelet. What's the world coming to...

Eyeball finds count.

From the look on her face I'm going to guess she's the type who's going to remind you many times how she outdid you.

Put a fork in you, your done.. Your never going to live this down no matter what you bring home and you'll never be able to buy another detector.

She was looking at the ground and not at buttons, and/or a screen. LOL

She'll never let you forget this hunt. Lol

Some of my best finds were eyeballed while metal detecting. Just because I'm looking down, studying the ground...and, BAM !....there's a ring or coin or bill on the ground. I once found 3 $100 bills in the bushes next to a golf course on Maui. Believe me, I went back every day during our stay and tore through those bushes. Funny.

I call them eye finds, I finds :) We would not have found them if we weren't looking in the first place

Tee hee..I was walking about 20 yards behind a guy with a metal detector back in 2007. I felt like he was giving me the old stink eye (he must have thought I was getting too close to him...but I was looking for shark teeth/sea glass and shells). So I sat down in a shell bed and scooped a kid's net full of shells...See what I eyeballed in the middle of my net...a 69.32ct uncut Muzo Colombian Emerald (probably from one of the 1715 Treasure Fleet Shipwrecks here on Florida's Treasure Coast. I LOVE Eyeball finds!! Of course...I now have a metal detector of my very own too ;)myemerald1.jpg
