Hey all, my brother and I got out for around 2 1/2 hours today. Came up with the usual clad, a cub scout tie, a fishing weight, and this diamond ring. Luckily although my detector said it was foil I dug it and found it. Goes to show how it's worth digging all the signals. It is from an old area, and I believe the ring to be old from it's design. Thanks for looking everyone and HH

Congratulations! The stone looks good, but I'd have it checked out for quality. Generally diamond rings have a sterling or platinum setting. The rust there doesn't look quite right for that stone, if it's a diamond. Good stuff though! Keep it up!

Congratulations :) Great ring, it does look old but as Noodle said, diamonds usually aren't in a setting that would rust and if the back behind the stone is closed then you may already know if it's a diamond or not. Never fear though, take it to a jeweler and they'll know for sure. Good job :D

Congrats! Always dig/search all metal! Foil & nichols are sometimes small or broken gold rings! :icon_scratch:
