I am very new at here, and my English is not good.
I have nothing to do during summer so last week I went to donate some books and some cloth at a charity store near my house. (I live in a small city at the border Ontario-Quebec)
I found out that this store has a lot of interesting stuffs.
These are what I found at that first day
1. Big brooch signed sterling silver and Forstner made in canada price 50c
2. Maple leaf brooch signed BondBoy-Sterling price 25c
3. Earings signed Mexico 9.25 price 50c
4. Pearl necklace (I think they are pearls after tried to bite LOL) with purple stones price 75c
5. Little pendant (I don't think it's gold but it's cute) price 25c

Welcome aboard! It says Today's Finds, not metal detecting finds so its all good. Nice finds, not too many pieces of sterling I wouldn't grab for a quarter.

I never think about to use metal detector for this, but I also have a very basic one at home
I needed it to help me find my 14k ring that I lost it in front of my house
And I am not sure if it's the thing that you guys are talking about
I am so afraid when I have to write in English LOL
I am an asian that live in Quebec
At school I speak in French and at home I speak my mother language
My English is quite rotten LOL

your english is fine...much better than me trying to speak your native language I'm sure ...so relax ...yes your low cost detector can find your 14K ring (if you get the coil over it) ...but know that it will also find pulltabs off of soda cans as well ... due to their size and metal make up --their electrical conductivity level (which is how a detector finds and sorts metals) is very very similar to one another ..so to find the ring your most likely going to have to dig a lot of pulltabs..

That detector should be able to find your ring if it's not too deep.
Try it and if you start digging up pull tabs you're getting close. Gold hits in the same range.
You'll feel so good if you find it.
Oh cool finds btw.....
