I had to do my laundry and that means metal detecting in the nearby park until it is done. This park has been hunted and rehunted by everybody. I found 90 cents of spendable coins and a 1920 wheat along with a ton of junk. After the laundry was done I still had some daylight left so I visited an early site located in a nearby field. The 1873 map shows a house there but there is no trace of it left now. I got my first large cent of the year and a flat button. The large cent is a Coronet type. Looks like someone spent some hammer time on this one. You can tell the type but that is all. I hope to get back out today for some swingtime and hope to find something older or prettier.
