My first Merc

I read all the time on here about everyone finding Merc and I have found a few old dimes, barbers, but I have wanted to find a Merc, well it happen today first coin of the day, made for a good day. I also found 1.31 in clad I only had a couple of hours to hunt so didn't do to bad. Here's some pics, the Merc was in bad shape but it's still a Merc.

Looks like 1917 but can't be positive I can make out the 191 ok but the last number is hard to make out.

How did you clean it up?

Used just water to see if there was a date and could tell it was in bad shape so used some tooth paste{pepsodent}
