You know I just live for that feeling of digging up a ring! If it is at the beach what a sight it is in the basket if you dig it in the dirt what a beautiful thing to behold shinning up at you from the dark dirt. CONGRATS DUDE!!! I hope you stick with it and find many more.
It's funny how different detectors identify different objects. Well, not that funny, just interesting. I use Garrett detectors with the bell tone and anything silver will blast your ears off if you don't have your volume set! A gold item, especually a ring will ring in like a nickel or pulltab and kinda' sounds like "eh, so what"? A copper penny will ring in pretty strong and try to fool you into thinking it's a dime except a dime will ring in louder and in rapid succession. A quarter rings in loud but more subdued, ditto a half dollar. A buried can will make you think you have found the mother lode except the tone is slightly off key if you listen close. These are just some of the pecularities I have started to learn about my ACE and my 2500. I wouldn't doubt that the same model detector might give off a slightly different signal in spite of mass production. Heck I'm way off topic....congratulations on a great find! Monty
