Wow!! How long did it take to put the gator back together?

That's some serious collection for nine months :icon_thumleft:

On and off 3 days.Brought the teeth home first then got to thinking why not go back and get the rest.So next day thats what I done.never have found the head to him maybe this winter when the water clears up I can find it.Someone else could have got it but I think they would had got the teeth to.I feel that it washed over in the creek and may be on the bottom. To muddy right now to see good and not going in looking for it as I know there are 2 other ones in the area I've seen a live.If I find it and the other 4 neck vertebra I know i'm missing might be 5 not sure on that and put his head back on he will almost for sure be 11ft or better as he is 8 now.

Does anyone know if this is the oldest identifiable item found on Tnet? It has to be close and in such good shape comparatively. Banner. Monty

Did you do it from a book or was it obvious?

Mind you, who needs instructions :D

Not the oldest I've seen but quite sure it is the rarest I've seen.Saw a 1655 cob on here from Mass. just the other day.(In U.S.)

Kirk bud,This stuff is eroding from edge of the banks. So up on the banks it would be a foot or better but with me and these finds already falling into the water they are not that deep normaly 3-6inches but have come across muddy spots that are much deeper 8-10 even deeper and hard to recover for it wants to fill in as fast as you dig.

Re: My Oldest Token/Coin Yet!!!!!! *1669*

Great story, great find and at the top for banner worthy find. What I personally would like to see from the moderators is an "explanation" of why something of this magnitude isn't on the banner. If it is the photo or the photo hosting site, "just let us all know why". I have seen enough to know that banner votes alone do not make the decision but please explain why so we are not all confused! I would like to be educated so that if I am fortunate enough to make banner, I will take the right steps to ensure that my photos are sufficient. Congrats Time Killer on finding something that most likely none of us will ever find. Hats off to all of you other guys that are helping him research and preserve the find.

Re: My Oldest Token/Coin Yet!!!!!! *1669*

If I thought that it was just the pic.I would go get in the truck drive 2hrs to my dads home.Get his $1,500 nicon camera take some pics. and post them but I don't think it would make a nickles worth of difference.I don't know what it is? :BangHead: :BangHead:
But for those interested in some of N.C. history here is a time line of events for N.C..
As for the token it self I can not find hardly nothing on it and would love to have any info. found so I can read about it more.

Wow! One of the most interesting and historical finds ever posted on here on the forum! Needless to say, keep hitting ever inch of that site nice and slow. Especially in the late fall and winter when most of the vegetation dies off! Keep 'em coming!
